Tuesday January 27th, Hacienda La Peñita, a spectacular property covering an entire city block in the charming Mexican Pacific coast town, played host to the annual Women to Women Benefit Fashion Show. This worthy event resulted in a sellout of 500 attendees as local and seasonal residents opened their hearts and pocket books to support women and children of picturesque Jaltemba Bay.
Proceeds generated fund scholarships for young women, school lunches for local schools, Christmas baskets for needy families and shade structures for the children to mention a few. This outpouring of generosity and love exemplifies the spirit of expat and winter residents giving back to our wonderful hosts. The people of Mexico. Volunteers gave of their time to act as waiters, silent action attendees, bartenders and 50/50 draw and beverage ticket sales.
Local fashion designers displayed their lovely creations with models of all ages taking their turns to strut the cat walk. Musical entertainment was provided by Extreme Luz and Sound, colorful folkloric dancing performed by the Decameron Dancers and a delicious lunch was served by the Xaltemba Restaurant. Jaltemba Bay Business sponsorship greatly contributed to the success of this pageantry of color, fabric and creativity.
A very special thanks goes out Sarah Walker, property caretaker of the amazing Hacienda La Peñita, who worked tirelessly assisted by volunteers, before, during and after this event to help ensure a smashing success!
